What madness is this? There are so many great synthesizers around at the moment; how can I possibly decide which are the best ones? Well, I have. Through the power of my great synthiness I have decreed that these eight (or nine) synthesizers will forever (for a while at least) be known as the “BEST.”
The synths in this list are programmable, tweakable and playable synthesizer instruments that bring something special to the synth-game right now. I’ve avoided big synth workstations, clones or replicas because, for me, they don’t really capture the essence of the synth as an innovative and post-modern artefact. Feel free to add your choices in the comments, but deep down in that secret dark place, you know I’m right 😀
